Got a new to me 7000, any tips?

Got a red belly (were they all red, never seen a black one) 7000. Gonna replace the hyd oil, hyd filter, and final drive oil for a fresh start. I DO have a manual, and I DO plan on reading it, I was just wondering if there is anything you guys have learned in the real world the manual doesn't cover. Its got 4500 hrs.

They did change to a black belly in later year. Just be careful shifting the main trans because it will grind if trans brake is not working proper. Later black belly I believe got away from a regular clutch and had a limiting disc and inching pedal. Front axle was also changed and was like the heavier 7045, 7060 and 7080. I think later ones had shifter on console and early had shifter on floor.

We had a red belly years ago and had to replace the Park/Reverse shift fork. I guess that was pretty common, when I sold it to a buddy my advice was "Don"t jam it into park".

When it starts jumping out of reverse get it looked at before it does alot of tranny damage- happens to all 7000,s
