spindle arm, A/C model B

I"m trying to get the spindle pins loose from the spindle arms on my "39 model B.

The main bolt & lock nut are removed but there a hole on the side that looks to have an allen set screw insert in it. None of my allen wrenches fit it though.

Is this some kind of fastener? I"ve tried heating the spindle arm & driving it out but not much movement.

Anyone experience this?
Thanks,

Gary

Ok thanks Ted. I guess I'll have to heat it up more & try to drive the pin out. Penetrating oil overnight didn't get it.

possibly your 39 has one of the rare adjustable front wishbone axles ? As Ted mentioned, the standard axle has no setscrew or pins, just a lock bolt and nut. Very few of the 38-39 adjustable axles were made and yours may be original, but not familiar to anyone ? Several times when faced with broken hard bolts, i have taken a 1/4 inch carbide concrete drill and resharpened to look like a steel bit, then drill the hard bolt out. Heat and oil are your friend !
