CA govenor

You don't do anything to a governor its self. you can put a heavier spring on the linkage in front of the distributor. That will give you a few more RPM's and a coupla extra horses if you maintain the higher RPM. Which is on a fine line. Actual extra horse power comes from added compression not added RPM's
 
I thought maybe It would get more fuel or air what could be done to the manifold to help, trying to squeeze everything I can without disassembly. thanks
 
It will get more fuel and air thru the engine which will show more Horse power at the increased RPM's. But only at that increased RPM. Once you put a load on the engine that will pull the RPM,s down you lose the increased horse power. In the field you would be able to take advantage of the extra HP plowing and tilling when not over loading the engine. Re working the head will get you get you the most for the least money as long as below the head is not in poor shape. You can remove as much as .200 from the head and get the restrictions out of the ports.
Extra horse power is not free by making adjustments if you thinking of pulling contests.
