Please help me identify a foreign object in my barn

I bought a little tractor at a sale one day. in appearence, it look like a half size 8n ford tractor, with attachments for a belly mower. it has a 3 point power lift hook-up, 540 pto and a two cylinder, air cooled ONAN motor. after six months of asking my neighbors and implement dealers, with no results, i finally started scraping paint. i found on the hood under several coats of paint (TWIN 20 HYDROSTATIC) on the trans. housing there is a molding number 176600. please help

Go to external_link, dig through until you find Allis Chalmers, and look for 616, 620, or 720. Possible?

You're welcome.
As with most AC lawn & garden equipment, I believe Simplicity built that. Seems like I've seen one with Simplicity decals.

I just took the time to look, and see that tractordata has lawn tractor info. also.
Simplicity 4040, 4041, and 9020

Sounds like a garden tractor to go with the Hoit Clagwell line of farm tractors.
Oliver Douglas had one of the farm tractor versions.
