Axel out of 1938 WC

Background: 1938 WC rowcrop, serial number WC72047. Been in the family since it was bought new, sat in a barn since 1963 without ever running. Trying to restore for my father in law.

Not exactly a novice but don't consider myself a total expert either so thought I'd ask for help from thoise with more experience. Have completely redone 2 8N Fords, a NAA, Massey Harris 22 and an 81. Have operators and parts manual for the WC.

Questions, how do I pull the rear axles out of this tractor as I need to repalce all the seals and want to check the bearings, etc. Have read the manuals and don't seem to get a clear picture of how to do this. Have the rear end stripped down, final drives are off the tractor. and not sure what to do next. Do I need to un bolt the rear end from the transmission and go that route? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated from those that have done this before

Hey Cowboy
Once you have stripped off the final drives the axels should pop right out, just mark the position of the bearing mounts so your bolt holes for the covers will line up when you put it back together.

Make sure you don"t interchange axles........they have a shallow spiral groove that helps to pull oil back into the housing. Switching them will pull oil out, creating a leak. If you replace an axle, make sure the replacement is from the same side.
