Hi, I"m working on C Allis. Installed new rings and a valve job. Working on restoring it got it running. It has little miss in the engine Checked valve setting had the carb off and cleaned it number of times. Installed a newcarb kit and looked at the needle set it is a larger hole in it then the old one. Switched back to the old one same thing. Adj carb i can screw in the Idling Adj screw in tight or out all the way in change in running. The rotor shaft in mag haas side play in it could this cause it the top on mag is truned out all the way the mag drive set at about 9:15 and3:15 not at 9:00&3:00 is the gov. off one tooth Thank You

Idle adjustment screw only does any thing a an idle. It also works back wards of the main jet which your carb is not likely to have either. You screw it in to make it richer and out to lean it out but not likely to be your problem.
As for the mag yep bad bushings and cause the problem you have due to the points not opening as they should. Send me an e-mail and I can send you the manual for that mag I have the 2 common manuals in this computer
