S/N on the tag on the frame rail is 1F-1561. I could not find a S/N list in this machine. Any help is appreciated. Fred Wilke

Well first off it is a W Speed Patrol as per the name on the manual I have. Next I bet that F is in fact an E and the list I looked at on the left of this page under research and info says it is a 1947. Same year as the one in the picture that I own. I have the parts manual for them by the way

No matter what Fred's is a 1947.

Funny this should be posted today. Yesterday I was able to barrow copies of the fallowing books through inter-libary loan and the UofArizona:
C.H.Wendel's "The Allis-Chlamers Story"
Norm Swinford's "A Guide to Alis-Chalmers Farm Tractors"
And Norm Swinford's "Allis-Chalmers Farm equipment, 1914-1985"
Wendel's gives a list to W Speed Patrol's identical to this sites, with the addition of end years. So:
LaPorte Plant
Year sn-sn
1940 IE1-1E466
1941 IE46-IE634
1942 IE635-IE678
Springfeild Plant
1945 IE681-IE819
1946 IF820-IE1437
1947 IF1438-IE2278
1948 IF2279-IE3515
1949 IF3516-IE3746
1950 IF3547-IE3753
Norm Swinford's "A Guide to Alis-Chalmers Farm Tractors" gives the SAME as Wendel's list except it says that the end number for 1946 was IF1437. At first I thought this could be a tipo, BUT
Norm Swinford's "Allis-Chalmers Farm equipment, 1914-1985" gives that all W Speed Patrols built in 1946 or later, IF.

So Old, dose your parts manual have any serial number list, or pages where it says such and such part was only on graders after such and such sn?
Maybe the special/optional clutch peddle some talk of, or the way the front extension is mounted to the WC frame rails?

Wish Agco had that book online like they do the WC, WD/WD45 and many of the implements, so I could see a complete copy myself without spending 40 or so dollars for the one this site sells. Guess eventually I'll just have to bight the bullet and buy one, but $40 seams pricy to me.
Serial Number List for Allis Chalmers: Model W Patrol

All also add a picture I scaned out of Norms guide, as I've not seen it on the web before.
Its a W Speed Patrol with a rotary broom out front.

So I post it for reference only, and take no credit for it.

The parts manual as far as I have seen does not have a serial number brake down in it but does state when ordering part be sure to include the serial number of the machine.
It also lists a Scarifier attachment
Has 2 different clutch controls listed as 1st type then another type.
Also list 2 different types of manifolds

A W patrolwill have the 1 E prefix. Yours appears to be mid 1947 vintage. From the back of C.H. Wendell's book.

Old, the tag was removed by the previous owner and is missing, and I haven"t tried yet to identify the year.

Do you or anyone else have a suggestion as to where I might find a download or an actual copy of the manual instead of you having to scan the individual pages?

I have an IT manual that covers the WC/WD series tractors, and the mechanical end of the grader is pretty much self explanatory, but a parts manual would be cool.

I do not know if you can still get one from AGCP but it is as per this manual Form TPL-110C.
As for the year you can come close with engine numbers if they are from the correct engine.
