I have a 1949 B, that Im putting headlights on. Is there a angle bracket that you mount to the grill shell, then bolt the headlight to that, or does the stud of the light go through the grill shell? Im just wondering what was factory. Thanks

All the head lights I have messed with on the B and C the light had a bolt on it that then screwed into the grill area

If I remember correctly that's a 1/2" NC thread in the radiator. The stud in the lamp is hollow so the wire can run through it. They could be hard to find, unless you buy OEM, which last I knew was MEGA $$$$$$$$$$$ !

Headlight has a hollow stud that is held in the hood & radiator shell with a jam nut & washer on each side. Wire from the lights and the light switch are connected on an insulated threaded stud in the fan shroud on the left side of the radiator, Hope this helps.

If you use aftermarket lights with a tin bracket on them, i have taken a 1/2 inch bolt about 1 or 1-1/2 inch long and drilled a 3/16 hole thru it.

The light has a hollow threaded stud. It does not screw into the rad shroud as there is no place to tap threads. There are jam nuts on both sides of the rad shroud.

Guess you got one that was messed up. ALL the Cs and Bs I have had the bolt or stud just screwed into the grill area
