HI I"m working on a C with a zeinthcarb # 8501B i have a small miss in it i can screw the idle adj needle all the way in or out all the way with on change. Engines has new Rings and a valve job. A new carb kit

The idle jet only works at idle and to make it richer you screw in in and the make it leaner you screw it out. Best to set it at about 1-1/2 turn out and leave it unless your worried about getting a super slow idle. One of the problems with that carb is it has no main jet adjustment so if you miss something in the carb when you rebuild it it is easy to have problems
