Hello. Im looking at a nice 1 owner 1948 Allis Chalmers C that has good but faded paint. The tractor fires right up and runs like a top. The tractor has the original tires that are deep but weather checked. The tin is great and it has a mounted side sicle bar mower in great shape. It also have rear wheels weights and side frame weights. Could you guys help me with a value on it? Im a IH man and am a little confused on these orange jewels. Thanks in advance

Perhaps:
I beleive we have a WC instead of a C, 1940's 1948 maybe?? This includes the complementary mowing machine.(Yes, I've broke a pitman stick;-) Trying to identify so $1,000.00 if you get it here until I figure out what it is and start restoring? metal and rubber good to excellent paint needs some work. Sloppy gears as seems to be normal with great power. Has been running with only rolled over for the last year as need to clean out gas line. Anybody that could identify it try my email or 585-968-0888.

More or less Brad

If you can get it for 1000.00 I would say you did fairly well. 2000.00 for a C unrestored is crazy.
Those tractors are a dime a dozen anywhere for 600.00.
With the extras on that one 1000.00 is not being crazy.
I have two C"s with side weights and belly mowers and would part with both of them for 800.00 each any day of the week.
If someone gave me 2000.00 for one I would take him out for a prime rib dinner also.

Same here, guess it shows how local such markets are? Pretty dang nice one sat out for sale on a state highway for a year. Guy was asking $900,, he finally just stuck it back in the barn. Last coupl eyears I have sold 2 that were in so-so condition for around $600 each and thought I did well.

If I owned it in this area, it would go for no less than $2000. Cripe sakes guys, it is a ONE owner! That makes it worth more in my estimation.

Ted, Then you can give the seller a 1000.00 for the tractor and throw in another 1000.00 for it being a one owner. The seller might even throw in a prime rib dinner.

About $1000 in the St.Louis area. Narrow front goes for a little less than the wide front. Figure $200 more with the side engine weights and about $100 for rear weights. 2 years ago I paid $1200 for a 1948 C with decent paint, tires, runs good, sheet metal is OK, and a factory wide front end and swing draw bar.

Missed the part about the sickle mower. $2000 as you described it would be a decent price

Sounds like it should be worth about $2,000 in our local market. I have one like it and suggest if you get the machine, replace the cooling water jacket "soft plugs" that are located inside the rocker arm cover on the head. They corrode away from the inside of the water jacket in such a way that you can't see disaster coming but suddenly you may have coolant in the lube oil sump and a wrecked engine if you don't catch and correct the problem quickly.

Seen them from $1000-2000 as the way you say it is. If you do buy it throw me an e-mail and I can send you the manual for that sickle mower since I have in in this computer
