Good spark plugs for WD45

What are good spark plugs for a gas WD45? Champion or Autolite? Numbers? I know I have had better luck with the Autolites on my John Deeres. Thanks for the help.

I have champs in my WD45 but could not see the number on them. When and if I replace them I will go with auto lites

Old; Is there a problem with your champs ? or is your preference Autolites . My wd45 has champs and so far she pulls and parades good -- don't know the plug # off hand

Now days the Auto lites seem to work better with this crap gas we have now then the champs do. But the champs I have in this WD45 are the same ones that where in it back 10 years ago when I got the thing and as long as she runs well and does what I want I'll leave them there

Maybe you just got real lucky and got a GOOD set of Champs...
Now..hope they come OUT when you want to change them..!!

I have had them out a few times doing what I call a poor mans tune up. I clean then regap them and put them in a different cylinder and go with it. It has had a hay rake on it for the last 2 or 3 years. Walked by it just the other day and turn the gas on and it started right up and it has been sitting in the filed since May when I did the hay this year

Using Champions in my old 390 Ford taught me to always use "Never-Seize" on each and every one..!!!
Had the same experiences with them in a JD..

About twisted some off, getting them out..

Really thought I would at least bend the 1/2" breaker-bar..

Never had much problem with plugs sticking in the head but them I do not over tighten them. Shoot some times I have the opposite problem and forget to tighten them enough and have them blow out and when that happens they can be hard to find LOL

Your WD45 most likely has a distributor (battery) ignition. If so and it's in a good state of tune and not an excessive oil burner I would suggest Autolite 303. But 295s also work great and is what you should use if by chance you are running a magneto. Kip

Something like that might give ya a heat attack..!!!
I do have a habit of getting things "MAN_Tight"...don't usually have bolts come loose either, but those Champs sometimes seem to seize in the threads and really can be severely hard to wrench out..ALL the way out..they Squeak and Squal all the way, each time you force them to move and you'd bet there were not going to be any threads when you get it out...

Like I said..I USE "Never-Seize" religiously on sparkplugs..!!!

Ya , I'm always afraid of getting dirt in the cylinders , so I blow air to clean the head before removing the plugs . Your right Old , my wd45 also sits for months and fires right up -- a little choke and away she goes . I just have a straight pipe and I love the bark from that crater engine.

I run Chanmps in my 3 red ones 2 flambue red ones and my 1 orange and NEVER had a problem with them running wise or when tune time was in getting them out, Kenny.
