wd45 exchanging worn shift tower

I have a tighter shift tower for a wd 45. Any tips before I swap out.

I would suggest replacing the complete top if you have one. Mine was worn bad and wouldn't shift so I replaced the whole top . Just shift the trans into neutral unscrew the bolts , take it off , line up the forks on the new one , drop it down and tighten bolts-- piece of cake

I picked up a complete shift tower from a salvage yard that seemed tight and in good shape. The original had worn pins, a worn stick shift, and the shifting forks looked bent. Hopefully the "new" setup will keep it from getting stuck in first gear.

Didn"t AGCO offer a repair kit at one time?? See a seller on eBay with an oversize pin kit too.
