  The forklift is actually a Buda as indicated on the tag, but weren't they associated with AC at some point? |

| Thanks fellows. I have been reading and looking since you posted. The engine does resemble a Continental that is in a G. It is a down draft carb. Compartment is too close to really find identification on the engine. Judging from the lifting eyes, and the fact that I got it from a college here, I am guessing that the lift was military and may have been Navy during WWII time. It looks like an early version of what is shown in Wendell's book. |

| AC bought out Buda, in the late 50's, to get a reliable diesel motor, to put in the WD 45. F series were from the 50's. Look in C.H. Wendell's book, for more info. F series forklifts were considered among the best of their era, with excellent grade climbing ability and good reserve climbing power. |
