Running rich?

How do I adjust a D 17 carb to stop it from running so rich?

# 1 you clean the water and mud out of the oil bath air cleaner. Then if it still is that way you take the main jet adjustment and screw it in a little at a time. If that does not work then the jet is clogged or the float is bad etc and the carb needs to be rebuilt

LOL. Funny how many do not understand the old oil bath air cleaners. I have had more the none person that I have worked on there tractor and I ask before I leave when was the last time you serviced the air cleaner and they say what you have to service them so I then have to show them how and what to do with them.
By the way thanks since you agree with me must mean I am doing something right for once LOL
