WD steering shaft u joint pin

I can get a new one from agco for $20. Does anyone know of someplace where i can get one cheaper or of something that will work as an alternative. I don't have enough clearance for a nut and bolt because of the oil pan.

Roll pin or if you can find it a simple hammer type rivet and you find one that just fits as in nice and snog tap it in the do a simple punch mark on the end with out the head to make it stay in

If you use a roll pin, no matter how well it fits please use a safety wire through it. This IS NOT something you want to fall out or work loose later.
I ground the head down close and used a thin jam nt with green lock-tite on my WC

Thanks. I was thinking roll pin, but the dealer said that he didn't think a roll pin would be stromg enough. Its good to hear that you guys have used them with good results.

I think what you want is a coil spring pin, not a roll pin. Not sure if I got the name right, but mcmaster carr prolly has 'em!

I use the coil spring pins. Got them from mcmaster carr. They are a lot stronger than roll pins and I figure if I ever have to remove one again they will be easier to remove than the steel pins.

I used a roll pin just a little longer than the "hub". Each end of the roll pin sticks out about 1/8 inch. (Grind the roll pin to proper length before installing.) Then flare each end of the roll pin with a good (large enough) center punch. (Back up the other end of the roll pin when flaring each end.) Then install a smaller roll pin that fits (snugly) inside the first roll pin. (Refered to as "nested" roll pins.) Flare each end of that (smaller) roll pin also. If you have concerns, clean everything well before assembly and "lubricate" everything with "Blue Loctite".
