what causes bad wobble if WD narrow front? (started project)

So i got the pedestal off and all of the seals and most of the bearings are shot. I"ve been looking online and for about the same price or less I can put a wide front on the tractor instead and probably just have to put wheel bearing on the wide front. What do you guys think? Does anyone know of a wide front end for a decent price within about 200 miles max of Detroit?

Keep and eye on eBay. There is a guy on there in MI that parts out a lot of WD's. Be prepared to spend about $400-$500 to get the wide front. The swap is pretty simple, but I can't imagine it'd take over a hundred bucks or so to re-bearing the NF you have.

A big reason for wobble is the bearing on the bottom of the pedestal. Doesn't turn much but gets hammered constantly from bumps in the field....makes the race get 'scalloped'.

Agco wants about 130 for the bearing alone. I found a
widefront for around 400. I think I'll be close to 300 or more
after new bearings and seals from various places. Im still
trying to figure my best route. Thanks for the input.

Take your bearings to a bearing supply place and the price will be quite a bit cheaper than the dealer,I would bet you could replace all the bearings and still have the slop, the gears are either worn or the spindle is loose on the shaft, where the set bolt tightens down on a keyway in the verticle shaft. But a wide front is a easy swap but still could have the play in the gearbox.

My key way isn't wore and neither are my steering gears. so that leaves only my bearings to be replaced. Can anybody cross reference the bearings, races and seals for the pedestal and wheel hubs to Napa? I'm thinking they might be my closest place to get parts cheaper than the dealer. Thanks in advance. I have the agco part #s if that will help.

I have one for $300. I am in Westphalia, Michigan. 20 miles northwest of Lansing. Ph 517-526-5154. If interested please call me.

I'm already rebuilding the steering pedestal because I was having trouble finding one close and then another wide front fell through. If this doesnt work out I may give you a call. thanks.
