Howdy,My brother in law has an Allis Chalmers 190 diesel. Earlier this year the wiring harness burned up. We got a new harness, starter and alternator. The tractor is running but the alternator is not charging The old alternator was a one wire (with internal voltage reg?). The new alternator has connections for a voltage regulator. The guy at the tractor counter said just hook it up like the old one and everything will work and I wouldn"t need a voltage regulator. It looks like I need a voltage reg. how do I determine which one I need? Thanks for any advice and merry Christmas to all Jeff |
