Ralphwd45 12-13-2012 16:55:00 74.209.55.191 Report to Moderator	So I pulled the engine on my 1955 WD45, and removed the clutch and pressure Plate, to put in a new clutch. I washed up the items, and could not read any numbers, or words on them, They appear blank. The IT manual says that a flywheel from a rockford will not accept an auburn clutch, and vice-versa. It doesn't give pictures of the two styles, so I can pick out the right one, and neither does the YT parts site. YT doesn't stock the auburn unit, and their pictures of the clutch, that they do stock, does not get larger, so I can make it out. YT only offers the rockford pressure plate, but has no image! Can anyone tell me what to look for to distingwish between the two. I would like to order the right one , the first time, so I can put my loader back on. I need the tractor now.The clutch that I took out looks like most car or truck plates, and has 4 segments of friction material, on it.The pressure plate has three fingers to push with, and one of the wire type return springs is missing, from a finger. That is exactly what I have, and I apreciate the info. Now I have to find a seal number. The seal behind the release bearing, is leaking oil into the bell housing, from the belt pulley drive gear compartment. No numbers on the one I removed, and IT shows the seal, but dont give the numbers.Neither YT, nor Carbaugh , show the seal in their catalogs. Reckon Ill have to drive down to the tide flats, to Bearings INC, and see if they can match it up. [Reply]  [No Email]

I would guess Auburn. I believe the seal you are looking for is A-C #224687 which I can cross reference to National #473424 in my 1985 National interchange catalog. You could try a local auto parts store for that but you should take the old one with you as a double check. [Reply]  [No Email]

In my years behind an AC parts counter, I never saw one. All I ever saw was Rockford. We even installed the 9 spring plate for the D17 in WD45s. You could have an exception, though. After checking Tony Carbaugh's catalog, and Yt's catalog, I am still uncertain, as to getting the proper clutch pac. I think I'll drive down to tacoma and check with South Side brake and Clutch, in the morning. at least they can see what I have, and get the same thing. They can't be much higher than both site's I have already checked,(around $250.00 for both pieces) and there won't be any shipping. I would have liked to support YT, but don't need any hassel.
