allis chalmers year/model ID

friend got a tractor a week or so ago and trying to find info.Was told it was possibly a 1948
tran case # is CE87934-G
I"m guessing from info on this site that it is a c series from 1950-is this correct?any info would be very helpful

What you have is the engine # and from that it is probably a 1948. Could be a B or a C. Look next to the shifter where it read Tractor No. C##### or B#####. From that you can get the correct year.
