drop axel on B allis

I have worn drop axels on a B allis. What would be a good method to take up the wear. The drop axel is wore about .125 and the housing is wore and I don"t see any bushing. I don"t have a book but don"t they have replacement bushing for these. Has any one welded the drop and bored the housings on a B?

I am totally missing what you are asking. Are you talking about the axle its self being in need of weld or the wheel center? Both the axle and pinon shaft sets in tapered bearings with a hard cup that I can see now way it would still pull its self and still wear out the cup and distory the housing.

You could have three problems, the bushings are wore out, the axles are worn, and the housing where the bushings go are worn.
Any AGCO dealer should have bushings, then you will find out if axles are worn.
I just replaced my whole front wishbone, instead of the bushings, my axles were worn out and the bushings just slid off.

There are sleeve bearings top and bottom that can be replaced. The king pin shaft can be welded and then turned down to proper size on a lathe. BTDT

normally 80% of the wear is the bushing and 20% is the spindle shaft itself. Normal procedure is to replace the bushings and use the old spindle shaft and it will be MUCH better. You can replace the spindle if you find a better one, or weld up and turn down, but normally you can get by with the old spindle.

Ted I'm going to try to weld up and turn down. I have an old lathe that I can chuck inbetween centers. If you have done this before is there any tips?

spindle has center holes on each end where it was turned at the factory. Thats the easy part. Good welding with quality rod is the first step.
