How does the tool box come off the steering tube ? It has a square brace on the bottom & wont come thru the oblong hole in the box .

Main reason I took these pictures was to show how to remove parts and have the tractor stable with jack stands under the drawbar and where to put a jack under the torque tube to have a solid three point position.

Remove the steering wheel, remove the clamp over the steering tube in front of the steering wheel. Remove the gas tank, then the tool box by sliding it up the tube and between the tube and the post. You may have to loosen the steering gear box to get some play at the post.
The square part is welded to the round tube. Depending what you want to do, you may not have to remove everything. I just worked on my steering gear box and only had to remove the gas tank and the tool box. LOL Bob

Yea I just pulled the tube & tool box off together & pulled the steering box off the tractor. Thought it might be better for me since i've never done this before.

I just obtained an Allis B and I think everything came through behind the steering wheel. But there were brackets that had to be removed on the tool box. I will have to go down to my shop and check. I'm not an Allis B expert, But I have just tore one down and getting ready to reasemble. Cute little tractor though.

That could be a problem. (:^D

You remove the steering wheel and take it out the other way. More bolts to remove to make it quicker with less welding to get it back to original. (:^D

did you remove the gas tank too? The tube should slid up the steering shaft after the steering wheel is taken off. The tube clamp has to be removed.

Tank is off- I just slid the tool box & tube off together. The tube wouldn't come thru the oblong hole in the tool box .
