How do you remove the Inner Bearing Cap (the first
thing that comes off in an attempt to get to the bull gear)?

It doesn't seem to unscrew. pop off, twist off,
Cuss off!
Or maybe I ain't using enough arm.

They are just pressedin usually wtih a hammer. I use a crooked bit in an air hammer to loosen them up. If there not stuck on you can pull with a channel lock pliers. but usualy they are very stuck.

Thanks.
I just went out there and beat that thing black and blue. And it won't budge. Is it supposed to turn (L or R) or pop off? The kid is coming tomorrow and he can get a better grip than me

I use a crowbar which is overkill but it works. Just pry them off. And when I replace them I use gasket cement as they can sometimes seep gear oil.

SUCCESS!

fOUND A SECTION OF WROUGHT IRON THAT HAD JUST THE
SHAPE I NEEDED. PRIED THOSE SUCKERS OUT.

THANKS, GUYS
