Because you can convert the tractor to a 12v system while leaving the ignition circuit on the magneto, I don't see a good reason to switch to a distributor. I was a Navy EN, years ago. I retired about a year ago from the Coast Guard as an MK. May I ask what ship you were on? We use to have a saying on my ships, "There are two groups of sailors, Engineers and Passengers!" On my destroyer ET's were combat systems division, and they berthed one deck below engineering. We would periodically grab one as he would transite pass our berthing, duct tape them up like a mummy, call down to their berthing and see if anyone was brave enough to come get them. Those were fun times. |

| I spent time on one boat the USSBN Cashmere Pulaski which was a sub out of Groton CT and then later the USSCV67 out of Norfolk VA. That was one of the last conventional powered carriers made and both are now gone or moth balled. I was in from 1974 to 1980. I repaired computers when on the sub and then on the carrier I repaired the flight deck communication system which was a simple walkie talkie |
