2 questions.

1. How do you refill or should I say where do you refill the final drives after you have drained them?

2. What are the bolts in the picture on the final drive for? I can"t locate them in my books or manuals.

The fill plug is on the pan that bolts to the bottom of final drive, it is the check plug and fill plug. The two bolts you have pictured are for a implement mount, such as a bracket for a corn picker.

I am truly surprised that your manuals don't address the issue of draining and refilling the final drives.

Okay. We thought the plug on the bottom was just a drain plug. Thanks for the info, this is my first AC restore project so it has been a bit interesting!

The only way to drain them is remove the pan from the bottom. the pulg on the pan is the fill level. Its easyist if you shift the wheel al the way out and remove the pan. put about a 1/2 quart gera lube in when you reinstall the pan. Be prepared to do some scraping when you get the pan off. all the ones I"ve done were full of gunk.

Regarding the two bolts - I remember a bracket which was used to support the rear of a side mounted mower. Long time ago!!!
