starter removal

Remove the side set screw and lock nut. Should just pull out or you may need to pry out. Disconnect the battery first.

Disconnect the rod and cable hooked to the starter as well as the bolt that holds it in. The starter will probably be stuck in the hole, you have to try to wiggle it out or put a little prying pressure between the starter and the bell housing to get it to slide back.

Fi it has not been pull in a long time it can be a night mare to get them to let go. You need to try to rotate it a little bit and pull back on it. Once out be sure to clean up the hole it sits in so as to make a good ground plus also make it easy the next time
