Allis B Pieces In Oil Pan?

Well I just bought a 47 Allis B Tractor. I was told the engine was stuck and boy oh boy is it stuck. I have tried ATF And Diesel and still nothing yet. I pulled the head and now just removed the oil pan. I found these pieces inside the oil pan, What are they????

I also noticed inside the starter housing where the oil tube comes out right behind the starter housing there is a couple pieces of cast missing. I think I found those also in the oil pan ( not pictured ).

Is this motor junk? I am just not sure if this thing is worth dumping the money into it.

Thanks for the help!

Hard to tell the size of the parts but it looks like governor pieces. If they are it might have more pieces in the front of the motor that are locking it up?

One mans junk is another mans treasure. :)^D

You might want to strip it down to the bare block, spec check all the parts and see where you need to go from there. That will not cost you big bucks and you will learn a lot about your engine that you would never learn any other way. If it is locked up from a shattered governor you will find that behind the front cover. That is what the pins look like they came from to me also. Might only take a governor assembly and a camshaft gear if it didn't get full of water.

A locked up governor could cause the engine not to turn?

I took that back cap off the governor area and all seems to be fine, is this something I have to take apart to see if there are pieces missing?

If the pieces fell off the gov and worked their way down into the gear train, they could have. The gov is driven off of the camshaft and the cam off of the crank. Any loose parts in between will cause problems. I agree with the others, sounds like it needs to have the front cover removed and the gov taken off to see where the pieces came from. If the weights came off the gov, it could have ran reeeeeeeaaaaaaal fast and locked up as well.

Take the front cover off............. what front cover?

The front cover of the engine? or the backside of the magneto area?

Thanks

Sounds like you also need to get an I&T or Allis shop manual so you know what to take apart and how it goes back together. Here is a link to the AGCO on-line parts book for the B. Should be able to find exploded views of the engine and gov setup that'll help you out as well.
