I have a Allis Chalmers D15 series II with a 12v positive ground electrical system. What all do I have to do to change it to a negative ground electrical system? I have been told to swap the battery cables on the battery and to swap the two wires on the coil. Is that all I have to do?

First off why the heck do you want to change it??? There is no rime or reason to do so if it is working. Now if you just have to do so which as I said no rime or reason to do so you need to first figure out if you have a generator or an alternator. If you have a generator yes you switch the battery cables and the coil wires and then you polarize the generator system and your good to go. But again I will ask WHY?????????????????????????????

If the positive and negative are swapped, wouldn"t the starter turn backwards?
The reason I ask is because I also have a D15 Series II, and considering the same swap.
