Allis Chalmers D17

I have neighbor that wants to sell me his 1960 D17 for $1000. It runs but not sure if it has 3 point hitch this seems like a good deal. I am more of a Farmall person but am needing another tractor. Anything to watch for. Thanks in advance for you help.

Factory it would not have a 3 point but a snap coupler type lift but who knows if it has been change to 3 point. Hp is around 52. As long as it dose not jump out of any gears and the hi/low works as it should as the other guy said they are good tractors. As for the power director in neutral they tend to creep when in the lower gears so also if the brake work check that you can hold the tractor when in the neutral when in say 3rd gear that tells you if things are close to being right as for the power director

To test for gear pop-out, stick it in 3 lo or hi, and crest a hill, going down, at high throttle, if it doesn't pop itself into neutral, when the gears start to slow the tractor down, then, it's prolly OK.
