D-17 Hydraulics

I recently bought a series I D-17 and a snap-coupler plow It wont lift the plow. it will lift a wheel disc. I put a gauge on it It slowly built up to 1600#s I'm told the is a pressure adjustment, but the slow buidup makes me thinknit's the pump. What am I missing?

Ron, I too had this problem with my D17 1st series.I traced it to the fluid filter under the tractor engine, right side. Pressure would build, but very little volume could pass through the clogged filter. A cheap fix.

Does it have a transport valve on it? Little gizmo on the rear remote, has a handwheel. For the mounted plow, turn it all the way in-- CW. It does not stop flow, but affects it...should be totally open CCW when using a towed implement like a disk. (EZ way to remember...screw it to the tractor for mounted equipment, away -rear- for towed hyd equipment). There is a pressure differentiation in its use.
