I got some good replies to previous post relative to the subject. Thanks! I also got a service manual for "B and C" tractors. If anyone is familiar with this manual, I have a couple of questions. In the first paragraph on page 50 it says "readjust as above" if tight sots are encountered. There is no "above" in this book.
In the fourth paragraph at the end it says "tighten all nuts securely" but there is never any mention to loosen any nuts.Am I the one that"s "nuts?" Thanks

| On the back of the steering gearbox and behind the starter there is an adjusting screw and lock nut. It is adjusted as follows. Turn the steering all the way to the end, either left or right. Loosen the lock nut and tighten the screw until it stops, then back it off 1/8 to 1/4 turn and tighten the lock nut while keeping the screw from turning. Note you will have to remove the starter to get to this screw.

| one manufactured box has the set screw on the end of the shaft... i think the other has a cam bolt on the cover plate? YOu loosen the 4 nuts on the cover plate and turn the cam bolt slightly to move the gear closer as i remember ?

| Not sure if both Gemmler and Ross steering gear boxes BOTH have the adjustment or not. Can't remember.

| back in the 40's we had a B for years. don;t remenber anything to adjust. Broke my nose on the underslung plow lever when I was 10yrs 0ld. glad it wasn't my teeth.
