I am trying to use a 3 point bale spear to move some hay. I thought this tractor would have enough horse power to lift the bales....but it won't. Any ideas? Is there a place to check hydrolic fluid, or would that matter. Don't know much about this stuff.
Thanks

| Thanks for the replies. I figured it should be able to lift a 1,200# bale. I will check that stuff out and let you know if that works.

| If the pump and relief valve is good, it should be able to lift the front end of the tractor off the ground. You have to have your foot off the clutch, and the hi-lo stick in neutral(center)position to lift at a dead stop. Check oil with rams fully extended, right side of tractor, dipstick just ahead of the gas tank. |

| | So I am still having problems lifting the bales. They avg 1,200 lbs, and the 3-point bale spear probably weighs another couple hundred pounds. Too much weight? The front of the tractor does not come up when i try, so I"m guessing something isn"t right. It can lift the 900lb bush hog just fine. Any other suggestions? Do we need to have somebody look at the hydrolic pump? |
