I have an opportunity to buy a 1958 D14 that I grew up with from my Grampa's estate. It runs well. The engine was rebuilt about 20 years ago.
It probably hasn't had more than 25 hrs per year put on it for the last 15 years. It has a factory loader, 3 pt blade and 60' brush mower all 30+ years old. They have asked me to figure out what its worth.
Any thoughts would be appreciated

They want you to put a value on a family tractor? Generally best to have the seller set a price for you to consider when you buy anything. I think it"s even more important in a family sale that the seller(s) set an asking price. Too many repercussions from a disgruntled relative are a distinct possibility. It sounds cherry, and family value adds to the price- but I"d still let them research and decide. All too often, it bites you later from one PO"d SOB. Nothing brings out family values like an estate settlement. I"d recommend...you decline, they decide, you decide.

Unfortunately I am also the seller. I am one of the direct beneficiaries and we all just offered to let each other buy anything we might want before anything is auctioned. We argeed to buy things rather than give them away between us so that everybody gets a piece of everything. We agreed to sell things between us at the lower end of the market value and I was the lucky one assigned to seek out a market value since this kind of stuff was more in my wheelhouse than the others involved. So I am seeking out any opinions on a market value. The sale values I have seen on the web vary from $800 - $12,000 in varied condition. This one has always been a working tractor and was never "restored" other than the engine rebuild 20-25 years ago due to some bad rings. The numbers seem to be in the $1500 - $3500 range for unrestored stuff that I could find but I haven't really got a feel for what value the implements might add.

Its a $2000. tractor, and the loader, blade, and mower will push that up to about $3500. YOur within $500. either way of that. Does it run right now or do you have to get it going ? Might need a carburetor overhaul, new points, etc ??? $3500. is fair for both sides.
