Saw this at the Old Threshers show in Mt Pleasant yesterday. Same guy has a 1/4 scale WD45 that looks exactly like a real one.

This one happens to be a 3 cyl Cummins.

Having read your previous post, nobody said it couldn't be done, they did say it would be difficult without machine tools, IE a good lathe, at a minimum, a bridgeport type milling machine would be a big bonus, but a drill press (a good one) would be a minimum, along with some cutting impliments( a hacksaw would work, but you would look like popeye, by the time you were done), and some grinders. Good measuring equipment (better than a tape measure) is also a mandatory item. Also you need to have the skills to use the above equipment. It didn't look like there were any weldments , so a welder may not have been used.Having all of the above equipment & the skill to use them , I was thinking about doing the same to my AC B.....After pricing 20ish HP diesels that were used or new. my concensus was rebuild the stocker....your milage may vary...Shawnspeed

True, I never said it couldn't be done. The best proof something can be done is by seeing one that has been done. It's all about wanting to do something unique or wanting to do something cheaper and easier. The same guy that did this one, did this:

That WD45 is a perfect 1/4 scale. I couldn't find a thing different between it and a real one, other than the engine. He's got a Tecumseh in it. Guess the tranny is a 3 speed. The hyd works and he's got a 3 bottom SC plow behind it that is just as "correct".

No doubt it can be done. See photo. I recently installed the 4 cylinder version of this same engine (Cummins A series (Kukje)) into a John Deere 1020. Oil pan and flywheel housing are custom castings. See photo.

Hi
When you made the change what fly wheel did you use, i would have thought using the cummins fly wheel would have implications but not sure if its possible to run a 4 cylinder engine with a 3 cylinder flywheel and visversa a 4 cylinder engine with a three cylinder fly wheel

I know this is an Allis page, but I installed the 4 cylinder version of this same engine into a JD. Tried to upload a photo last week, but was apparently unsuccessful. Will try again. Had the original engine and flywheel housing laid out on a CMM. As an engineer for Cummins, I had access to installation specs. Put it all together from there. Next is paint.
