Which engine?

I've got an old AC engine that I think is from an All Crop pull type combine, but I'm not sure. How do I identify it?

Most likely a B tractor engine. Serial number should be stamped on the top side of the flywheel housing on the right side.

or on the flat boss on either side of the bell housing. might need to clean up the area to see it. BE xxxxxxx or CE xxxxxx or R xxxxxx

Does seem likely it's a B. There's no bell housing or anything on this. I didn't get a chance today to clean up the flange above the oil filter housing.
