Removing Toggle Pivot Pins on B hand brakes

Once the retaining clips (#208560) are out, is it just a matter of hammering the pivot pins (#205531) out? Or am I missing something? I hesitate to wail on them for fear of breaking the cast iron.

Thanks!

they poke from the center (seat area) outward. POUND AWAY.. I have found it best to use an air chisle with a 1/4 or 3/8 flat round bit end. 1000 sharp rapid whacks is what it needs. --- and penetrating oil

Sometimes the pin holes aren't drilled all the way through (blind holes). You may have to drill on the inside to get access to the pin. Use Never Seize when reinstalling them.

Ted,

Thanks...I noticed that. I have one side out now...one to go...I think maybe 3 gallons of PB Blaster are in the environment now. I use anti-sieze on everything I put back together on this old iron. Since you're in NE Ohio, please stop and see us sometime...nnalert Tractor in Orwell...google it.

Thanks, Tim
