old dual fuel allis manifold

Does anyone know which was the old Alis that had 2 fuel tanks? It had spark plugs but it could run on gas or kerosene. The intake and exhaust manifolds were all in one. the small tank was for gas, the big tank was for kero. it started in gas, and once it got warmed up good you opened the kero valve and then closed the gas valve. the kero ran around the exhaust before it went in the intake via the carb. It was heated till the flash point was at least as good as regular gas. Heck, it would run on melted lard, as good as gas, or motor oil, just about any type of petroleum product, or animal fat. I sure would like to know the model number, etc. I always thought it was a WD45.

Almost all of the Allis Chalmers tractors were available that way up to about the mid '50's. They called them distillate engines. Very low compression and equipped like you have outlined.
There were probably very few WD-45's made like that; more popular models were the WC, B, C, U, UC.

pretty much everything Allis built up to the WD could be gotten as a kerosine/dual fuel engine
The A,B,C,CA,WC,U,UC included

i know my WD was like that before i bought it. It had a dual fuel manifold, but no extra tank. unfortunately the manifold was too far gone to repair and i had to replace with a gas aftermarket manifold.

I have a WD45 Distillate and I know of one more; I have heard they even made some D series as a distillate, but have never seen one. My 45 distillate has been restored and it has all the original distillate parts still.

Thanks to everyone for your replies, Now that I know They called them distillate engines I will try to to find one that I can aford to buy. Back when I had mine, I just took the engine model number to my local dealer and they ordered a new manifold that replaced my manifold perfectly. Heck I ran that rascal on everything from kerosene to burnt motor oil and recycled transmision fluid and everything in between! Gosh, I hope I can find one that I can aford!

is there any possibility that you could email the ID number off your engine to me? I teach an auto mechanics class at our local adult vo-tech school, and I would like to try to order a manifold for a tractor such as yours, and use it in a class I teach about dual fuel engines. As I said, I once owned one, and it was very very reliable. It's fuel delivery system was very unique to say the least.I feel certain that I will be able to find such a manifold, if I just had a serial number to use as a tool to find one. Kindest regards
