1941 WC ALICE CHALMERS

I AM REBUILDING THIS 1941 WC SERIAL #132941 AND I NEED TO KNOW WHAT KIND OF ENGINE IT HAS IN IT. IT HAS 4 CYLINDERS AND IT HAS NO NAME ON THE BLOCK. I NEED TO GET RINGS AND DON'T KNOW HOW.I LIVE IN SARDIS MS AND MY PHONE NUMBER IS 1-662-526-9522 , IF YOU CAN HELP PLEASE CALL OR E-MAIL; ME . . THANKS

It"s an AC built 201 cu in engine, 4 inch bore, 4 inch stroke. Rebuild kits available through AGCO, plus many other suppliers, including Yt Mag.

Well being a styled WC it should have the same engine as the WC/WD but and this is the big thing is you have no idea what may or may not have been done to it over the years so a person pretty much need to open it up then order the parts because it could have been modified in the 50 plus years is has run

Like Old says, you better open it up first. Over the years it might have been overhauled with an over-bore 4-1/8" kit which would take different rings. It should have flat top pistons. If you find crater pistons, then it likely would have a WD45 crank installed.

Basicaly yes. But improvements started almost imediately and continued until the end of 201 production. The 201 in a late WD is quite a differant animal than a 1934 WC engine in features and performance.

I PULLED THE PISTONS AND THE PISTONS ARE CRATOR SHAPED ON TOP NOT THE FLAT SERFACE , DOES THIS MEAN THAT IT HAS BEEN REBUILT BEFORE AND I NEED TO GET SOMEONE TO MEASURE THE RING THAT IS IN THERE NOW.ALSO THIS IS MY FIRST TIME TO REBUILD A MOTOR AND I AM JUST FEELING MY WAY ALONG . THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE.

Probably has had WD45 or M&W pistons put in it. Need to pull a piston and see for sure. Guess I'll be the first to say it, but I'd put 4 new sleeves and pistons in if it were me. The pistons in it now could be sloppy loose, the sleeves could be wore and have a large groove at the top. New rings won't fix either of those problems and without taking the groove off the sleeve you could smash your newly installed top ring.
