| A problem like that can be caused by many things. Needing a simple tune up or a carb rebuild or as simple as a weak spring. Hard for us to help you with out more info as to what you may or may not have done already |

| Only a guess but I would think it would come around with some hard work and a can of sea foam. Half in the crankcase and half in a half tank of gas. It sounds like it is a bit shy on compression or HP. Same deal when you are talking third gear. A governor is a RPM limitor or is to hold the RPM up under load provided you have the HP to hold that load at that RPM. My thoughts come from the fact that it sounds like nothing has really been changed in the engine by you before the problem started. If the engine is not wore out working it will get the rings to hold compression up. You can do a compression check as is and them add a few squirts of oil in the spark plug hole and re check the compression before the oil can seep by the rings. If the compression does come up the working then engine should work. |
