Changing spindle bushings on a B

I have managed to remove the spindles, but don"t really see how to remove the old bushings. They are pretty well worn, with about .100" slop in them, so there isn"t much to push against. I"m hoping there is a trick to this that I haven"t discovered yet.

Thanks in advance for any tips.

I use a Snap on Toool and recently removed this bushing from a "B" Farmall steering worm shaft.

I think I used a hacksaw blade (blade only not in the saw) and sliced mine right down to the limit then smacked it with a hammer and punch and it slid right out.

I drove out any I rebuilt with a piece of round steel bar or a piece of pipe that was a few thousands smaller than the bearings OD. Not sure which as it has been a few years but it would have been something out of my scrap pile's.

The hack saw trick worked for me also fyi I
rembering reading on this form some time back
that the 8 N Ford bushing are the same and cheaper that is if your are working with the

wishbone front end

Thanks for the replies. I"ll be trying the hacksaw for removal and might make myself a pilot mandrel for the installation.

I do have the wishbone front end, but had planned on making my own bronze bushings rather than buying them. Depending on the cost of the 8n bushings I may reconsider my plans.
