I have a chance to by a D17 gas tractor. It has a one way hdys on it, and snap coupler on the back. What do you have to do to make it live hdys? What do you have to do to switch it to a 3 point?
Thanks Howard

Live hyds you need newer tractor then that one. As for 3 point you can build a set up or buy a bolt on set up me I build them my self to buy one is big $$ as in around $900 give or take a few $$$

I had a series 3,I put live hyd. on by running a hex shaft off of the crank pulley. thru the grill
(look @ bottem of the grill, there will be a knock out spot)to a pump bolted to the front of tractor(predrilled holes from factory)hose back to tank and valve.

It has live hyd via the hand clutch. If you want INDEPENDENT hyd, you can add a front mount pump. The crankshaft pulley should be tapped for bolting the pump drive shaft to it. You"d also need a separate oil reservoir for it, and valve(s). You can get two-way hyd with your existing internal pump by plugging an auxiliary valve into the existing remote, and adding a "return to sump" line. If your remote has a transport valve, you already have a return line.
