D15 engine swap help

Just looking to find out which engines from other tractors or combines will bolt up and which give the best performance.

Thanks

Is yours series 1 or 2? If Its series 1, motors from b, c, ca, d-10, d-12, d-14, and d15 series 1 will all bolt up, no problem, at all. Series 2 d-15 motor will bolt right up, but there might be some sheet metal, and frame rail issues, maybe radiator and shroud fitting issues, too.

the B-C have smaller 125 cubic inch motors. The slightly larger D10-12 i think have a 138 inch motor. The D15 has a 149 inch i believe. THE smaller motors are more common, but will be much less horsepower and not very usable. If at all possible, i would have the larger motor rebuilt.

Looking to add more power. Will the Gleaner engines bolt up like they used to in the WDs?

the 116- 125-138 and 149 -160 motors use the sambe bell housing. The 201- 226 i think are bigger bolt pattern.

You should already have the best bolt in from this engine family which is the 160. Early D15s might still use the 149 like a D14. If you have the 149 your only options to upgrade is from a later D15 or a 160 power unit. Kip
