My husband had an old allis-chalmers hd-10 dozer. He has died and I'm trying to figure out some sort of a value for it. The model number is 6535 which I've been told means it is a 1947 model. As of 9 months ago it still ran. I thought if I even had an idea of it's weight for scrap I could know it is worth at least that much. It is a friend of my husband's that may buy it to do some land clearing and he doesn't want to cheat me but doesn't know the value either. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Not sure if the link will work but it says the HD-10 prior to S#.5574 weight was 20,960 lbs and the HD-10w weight is 21,630lbs either way its a 10 ton dozer..

So I called the junk yard, need to for myself anyways. They said with no rubber or fuilds 1.87 per lb. THERES NO WAY THATS RIGHT!!!! You will have to check your closest junk yard. At 1.87 it would be worth $37,400 [I dont think so].

If this guys is really your friend he should be fair to you. Also it is a possiblity that its worth more as scrap but sure would be GREAT if someone were to keep the HD-10 running.

$1.87 per hundred pound, sounds a little better. That brings scrap value to about 3,740. If it's still running, in this market, $5,000 would be tops that a sane man would pay.
