Does anybody know where I can get an overhaul kit for a G262 combine engine? A kit that includes bearings,sleeves and pistons, etc and does anybody know a ball park figure of the price of a kit? Thank you

Adding to that does anybody know a good way to boost the compression on one to maybe 10 or 10 1/2 to 1 compression or getting 5 to 10 horse more?

LP pistons are 8 to one. You may have to have a Custom set of piston made. I do not know if any of the after market piston companies; Ross, Venolia(sp?), Jahns have ever built piston for the Allis industrial engine. I would like to find a set of LP pistons for the G-230. I am not sure if they were ever made.

Gas pistons will be power crater pistons. Diesel pistons will be flat topped and will boost compression.

So can you get 80 horse or around there with diesel pistons?

262 is a great and dependable engine, but without a custom grind cam and a lot of air flow tuning on the head your not likely to get to 80 HP. Easiest thing to do is not to try to re-invent the wheel. Drop in a Chevy 292 in it. Since Agco used Chevy engines it should be easy to find a donor or at least the bell housing adapter and such. There are all kinds of mods for the 292 so you can go as high as your wallet will let you.
