Whats the tallest tires I can use?

I have a Allis Chalmers "C" that has 24" wheels. They are 8" wide. I use this tractor for tractor rides and need the speed. Its not used for field work anymore so the reducing of torque wont be an issue. I want the tallest tire I can get for it. I know when it comes to tractor tires I cant get taller without getting wider also. So whats the tallest/widest tire that will fit on my wheels? Now it has 9.5 - 24

A few years ago I got in a C that had 12.4X24s on it and it did ok but I did go a bit smaller on it. I also at one time had one that ad 13.6X24s and to me they looked odd but then for what you want having a tire that looked like an old Bike balloon tire might not hurt you any

C would normaly have 11.2x24 tires. The 9.5s are a little small anyway. I would not go larger than 12.4x24. Speed your engine up a bit with a stiffer governor spring off a CA, power unit, or small D-series tractor. Kip

Model b had some special rear wheel equipment, on both the potato special, and the asparagus special versions. The potato special had 7 X 28 rear rims. the asparagus special had 8 X 38 rear rims. All would fit your C, if you can find them. Most ag rims will interchange, if they bolt on , at the axle hub. Some of the old AC B/C/CA rears do not use the bolt on hub. That being said, I have seen the 8 X 38 rims on a B, at a tractor pull, they looked to me to be from a IH/Mccormick tractor. My suggestion is to keep your eyes open, at junkyards, and auctions, you might get lucky...
