I bought a DA 385 planter at an auction yesterday for a song. Now I need to get it home. I thought about hopping on the tractor and going to get it, but lots of twisty back roads, one lane bridges, hills, switchbacks, rail road under passes and 40 miles separate us. Nothing to mention this thing is 17' wide.
I do have a heavy 16' trailer that I feel comfortable with 4-5000# on under these conditions. Question being.... what does it weigh with markers, tounge, and any other easily removed weight taken off?
It is a 6 row narrow/no till/ liquid.
I have been looking for a heavy planter to build a zone till type rig out of. This one looks like it will fill the bill.
