HI everyone   :) I am looking at one sitting next to a barn. Has not been run in a couple years. Rear swing pin and seat look to need replacement. Cylders all look pretty good for age. Are parts still a bear to find. This would be a blind project as its not running. asking price is 2600. I know you cant predict over net just looking for a allis lover opinion.

It sure seems like a nice heavy machine

I wouldn't buy any backhoe if it has a unitized round-barrel single swing-cylinder. Parts are usually scarce and they are near impossible to fix once scored. They are also weak, as compared to dual conventional swing cylinders (or one big one with linkage). Deere used them in a few hoes, but pretty much all the AC hoes I've seen use them.

Maybe for a dirt-cheap machine - but $2600 is not dirt-cheap.

Let's put it this way-I dug one out of a fence row for four years, that was covered in grape vines, set a fresh battery in it, checked oil and fuel, sprayed WD40 into intake and the old dog started after about 30 seconds! If you are not going to use this for more than 5 hours a week, might not be a bad deal. Where else can you find a big loader like that for the price if you can get it running which I would ask the owner to let you try to do first. Make sure the motor mount bolts in front of engine are not broken off-affecting the driveshaft to hydraulic pump-check to see if brakes still work-master cylinder under floor deck-and if it runs work all the cylinders to check for leak and both swivel pins where hoe attaches to tractor frame.
