I have a chance to buy an old Allis WD factory road grader. I need to know the approximate value. Near new tires, repainted about 10 years ago, stored inside, runs good, alternator mounted switched to 12 volts. Any information on the value would be appreciated. I like the looks of it because it is odd. Another option is a high and low speed box behind the 4 speed transmission before the differential. Current owner said it would run over 20 MPH in high range. The grader is the old manual type with big iron wheels to level or cant the blade. Blade in about 10 foot wide.

Here's a video of one in action:

Pretty sweet machine, IMO.

Sorry no such thing as a WD grader but there was the W Speed patrol like this one. This is a 1947 W Speed Patrol and was based on the WC tractor they did not do one on the WD tractors

The thing will actually make 20 MPH? They must've done something to make it go faster than the usual 12...

Sounds like a W Speed Patrol that was built from a WC tractor. Just my observation, but one for parts around $1000, one that is in good running/working condition $2500-$3500 and a restored one $5000 or more. There should be a serial # plate on the frame below the oil filter area, from that you can get the year off the data charts.

The ones I"ve seen in the last 10 years are usually in that 3 grand range. Styled or unstyled. You should find the tractor serial number on the differential- machine may have another.

I appreciate your reply. It is in a barn I need to take a light to check the tag. Thanks again.

If it is like the one I have pictures above it will have a tag or should have a tag on the left side about center of the engine. That tag is on the frame rail and it will have the serial number of the machine

I paid $3200 for my WD45G needing some work. It does twenty miles an hour easily with the two speed gear box. I have put a little money into it but i now have an almost new machine. Very well built and paid for! The serial number plate on mine is on the right side of the grader and off to the right from the door above the step.
