Going to pickup a Allis Chalmers CA tractor.Going to use it to pull the AC 60 all crop combine .Will this little tractor pull it?AC 60 combine has a power unit on it.New to the AC 's so just looking for some information. Before I get into deep. Thanks BlaineF(WA)

If your Model 60 was pto operated, you'd be really pushing the CA, but with a separate power unit you should be OK. A model 40 CA combination would be sweet as it was designed to pair up with a B.

As long as the ground is not too soft, it will be OK...
There were times, farmers had to resort to pulling the combine with 2 tractors..but most of that was because one could not run the PTO AND pull it in soft ground..not enough HP..or traction..

Combining soybeans on ground not Frozen hard enough was a real pain..!!!

Man, did I get a cussing one time when Dad found I had greased the slip-clutch..!!!
NEVER grease it..grease gets into the driving dogs and it slips to darned much..!!

Ron..

Thanks guys for the replies. This little tractor has fresh paint on it.Also new decals, new tires all the way around. But it has a crack in one of the cylinders.Does this tractor have cylinder liners or is it just a standard cast block?Doing some trading to get it .The guy wants $900.00 for it .Thought the tires are worth that.Kinda a good deal for both parties. So thats why I picking it up.Want a orange tractor to pull the orange combine. These are just toys. Going to use them for fun.Not for production.Normally run J.D. but adding some color to the toy selection. Thanks again BlaineF(WA)

Forgot serial # CA5561

One more thing comes with a 2 bottom plow aswell

Blaine, horsepower will not be your limiting factor, weight will. I have pulled my All Crop 60 with one of my C's and it was pretty light on the front end. Mine is a engine driven combine like yours. Was ok on flat ground but needed to drive with the brakes on any kind of a hillside. My wife will be glad that you are going to get the CA, would have liked to have had the plow to play with on mine though. Mike

Blaine they have wet sleeves...I may have a liner for you. It looks like that plow is half of a rollover plow...I saw it on CL about a year ago....almost bit, but I have enough CA's for now LOL. Are you going to the club meeting tomorrow?
