Need battery for Allis Chambers B model

I need a new battery for my 41 AC B but am having a hard time finding a replacement. The box dimensions are 9.5" L x 5.25" W x 8.25" H - I think this is the original battery box so I am pretty sure this is the correct battery.

Any idea of a source for this size battery?

I just find one that is really close and shim it with some wood.

The problem is finding one that is that small - i can find one that has 2 out fo the 3 dimensions that work but the other dimenstion is always too large

If still 6 volt you need a type 1 6 volt. If it's been converted to 12 volt I've found that a group 26 battery works well. Kip

It is on 12 now. Isn't the Group 26 too wide for the box?

I don't know where you are looking but the 12 volt I have in one of my B's has room on all sides. Take a ruler with you to a farm store.

i got my battery from n.a.p.a. a group 26 shimed with pieces of rubber mat. works great

Take a measuring tape along and go to your nearest Walmart store and measure their batteries. I have one in my garden tractor that's 8 years old. They have a free replacement during the first 3 years if it fails.
