My 1957 WD45 vids and history

Davarn Equipment Sales was Pewamo, MI's main supplyer of farm equipment selling Allis Chalmers for over 45 years. It closed in '86. Our wd45 was sold in January 1957 to Harold Cook. in the 70's, it wa over hauled with a D17 kit. When He brought it home that winter, he couldn't get it started so an extra 6vlt battary was added. It worked on the Cook farm for 22 years. My grandpa bought the tractor for $1000 in the spring of '81. It came with an Allis Chalmers sickle mower bracket and a heat houser. My grandpa put a freeman #18 trip loader on it with an 8ft blade in '85 and used it for cutting wood. Every winter, the het houser would be put on and get a little more torn up. In 2001, after many breaks and fixes, the main loader arms where scraped. We kept the blade and brackets and bought a used Freeman square frame loader arms in 2002 and bolted and welded the blade to them. In 2005, The Heat Houser was removed for the last time. The loader was removed later that spring and has been on and off since untill being sold at a local consignment auction yesterday for $45. Last fall after freezin the last four years with out the old heat houser in -5 degree weather in road gear while cutting wood, I used the brackets and built my own. The first engine covers I made where from a very light cream canvas but they liked to tear. So I made the blue ones you see now. The frame also changed from 1/8th" flat steel which shook to a stiffer, stronger 1/2" pipe from a lawn swing top.
